Making Sense, Conversions and Pythagoras

Wishing every success to students starting their GCSE’s … or nearly finishing SATS!

I must admit I’m completely in awe of the professionals who create the exams — it must be incredibly difficult to write problems so consistently. Although, just occasionally, a question makes me smile. Here’s a favourite.

Key Stage 2 (years 3–6)

I’m sure that you are working hard to make sure that your writing makes sense … always read through afterwards to check. In the meantime, here’s some sentences that need a little work, can you change them?

Key Stage 3 (years 7–9)

Quite a few students find unit conversions difficult. They are usually absolutely fine with cm to metres, or grams to kilograms … but, what about area, volume and speed?
