11+, Fractions and Solving Equations
I mentioned a few weeks ago that I quite enjoy writing, and have been fortunate to have had some posts published in an online magazine called ‘Educreate.’
Here’s the latest — please do let me know what you think :-)
What use is a quadratic equation?
Key Stage 2 (years 3–6)
It’s quite interesting how often we get asked to help with 11+ maths. There isn’t really a local requirement but, increasingly, students are using the materials to practice for the some of the school entrance exams … or to give themselves a significant head start for year 7.
So, here’s a challenging booklet to work through. Always pleased to mark and feedback :-)
Key Stage 3 (years 7–9)
Fractions are incredibly useful with around half (geddit!) of the school maths curriculum, and are much easier to work with than decimals.
Try some addition / subtraction of fractions to keep your skills up to date.
